Join us for a screening of the documentary Finding Edna Lewis, followed by a discussion with food anthropologist Deb Freeman and Eater LA reporter Mona Holmes. The film follows Freeman, creator of the acclaimed podcast Setting the Table, as she explores the life and legacy of culinary icon Edna Lewis. Though little audio or archival footage of Lewis survives, Freeman finds that memories of her remain strong, not only among those who knew her best, but also chefs who have discovered her cookbooks. Through interviews and cooking demonstrations, Freeman uncovers how Lewis continues to inspire a new generation of chefs.
