ODUNDE Festival

About

Odunde is the largest African American festival in the USA. Known throughout the world as one of the original models for African-American festivals, the festival attracts up to 500,000 attendees and therefore covers 15-city blocks. Odunde will kick off with a unique parade in honor of the Goddess Yoruba. Moreover, it has over 100 arts & craft/ food vendors and two live stage performances. It hosts many internationally known African and Caribbean performers, dignitaries, folk artists and cultural leaders. In sum, participants can taste traditional African food which including fried fish, chicken and curry goat. Decorative masks, bangle bracelets and African clothing and handmade gifts are available for sale.  Visitors will get a true glimpse of African culture and heritage at the Odunde Street Festival.
