Step 1: Download the movement app.

Summer in Los Angeles is filled with so many events, day parties and more it’s almost impossible to keep up with it all especially if you’re new to the city and aren’t on all the mailing lists. Movement has a team of local curators who are connected to pretty much everything happening and are constantly recommending events on the app.

You can also chat with people at the events and stay plugged in for the various after parties that happen. Think of it as your plug for the summer.

Step 2: Familiarize yourself with West Hollywood.

West Hollywood is center of day parties come summer time. If you aren’t familiar with the area just understand that parking can be absolutely trash. You really shouldn’t be drinking and driving anyway so it balances out. Just understand you’ll be spending a lot of time in the area so its best to figure out which parking garage you want to go to before hand. You can easily find yourself circling for 20 minutes and now the line is two times longer.

Step 3: Dress ready to sweat

Listen, these DJ’s really go all out in the summer. They come ready to put on a show. Maybe it’s the sunlight or energy, but people are ready to throw it back on sight so prepared and dress appropriately. There will also be plenty of pool parties for you to show off that summer body you’ve been working on.

Step 4: Leave the bad vibes at home.

One of the best part of the day parties in LA is how relaxed and positive they usually are. The lines move at a good clip, the energy is inviting and open and people really just want to have a good time. It’s like the polar opposite of the smug and pretentious clubs and thats a good thing. So chat up someone in line and make some friends. Come with a open heart and the day party will reward you.

Finally, make sure you don’t drink and drive! This guide was brought to you by Movement. Need to know what the moves are for this week or come summer time? Tune in at https://www.movement.fm
